Professional Blogs, RSS Feeds and Journals
Listed below are some blogs, RSS feeds and journals that some of our students subscribe to. Some may not be applicable to your particular area of study and interest.
Professional Blogs and RSS Feeds
While it may be possible to bookmark and visit the sites, I recommend that you use some type of news or RSS aggregator to make life easier. Google Reader seems to be a current favorite among SIS students, but for more information take a look at this article.
The nice thing about using an RSS aggregator is that you can scan the headlines to get a sense of current trends in the industry, but not necessarily read every article. "Mark All As Read" is a wonderful tool! Don't forget to add non-LIS feeds to your RSS tool so you can keep up with other areas of information also.
